Shivamogga: 70 students fall ill after consuming hostel meal | Bengaluru

Round 70 college students of the Morarji Desai residential faculty in Gondhichatnalli in Shivamogga district fell in poor health on Monday allegedly after consuming a meal on the hostel, faculty authorities mentioned on Tuesday.

The scholars have been admitted to McGann district hospital, and after taking medicines, all the scholars have been discharged from the hospital, they added.

In keeping with faculty authorities, the scholars have been served chapati, rice and curry within the afternoon on the hostel. Just a few hours later, round 5 pm, some college students complained of giddiness, abdomen ache and headache. Instantly, authorities shifted to McGann hospital and admitted them there.

“The residential faculty have courses as much as 10+2 from 5 requirements. Quickly after college students complained of abdomen ache, we referred to as an ambulance and shifted to hospital,” Morarji faculty principal M Tejasvini mentioned.

The principal mentioned the college has a separate cooking system, kitchen and menu for highschool and 10+2.
