US Condemns Internet Shutdowns In Pakistan, Urges To Lift Social Media Ban

The U.S. State Division on Wednesday condemned web shutdowns in Pakistan, together with restrictions on social media platforms, and urged the Pakistani authorities to carry such restrictions.

“We’re involved by any experiences of restrictions on the train of the liberty of expression and affiliation in Pakistan, together with the partial or full government-imposed web shutdowns, which incorporates, after all, on social media platforms,” State Division spokesperson Matthew Miller informed reporters on Wednesday.

Miller mentioned that Washington known as on Pakistan to respect freedom of expression and “restore entry to any social media that has been restricted, together with Twitter.” He mentioned the U.S. issues had been communicated to Pakistan via official channels.
