Video shows Dalits being asked to serve Karnataka CM only branded tea

The Congress on Thursday shared a video purportedly exhibiting officers instructing a Dalit household to serve solely branded and packaged tea powder as a substitute of atypical tea to Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and BJP chief B S Yediyurappa, amongst others.

Bommai, Yediyurappa, together with Tourism Minister Anand Singh, Water Assets Minister Govind Karjol and different BJP leaders had breakfast in a home at Kamalapura in Vijayanagara district on Wednesday. Later, the Chief Minister’s workplace shared footage and movies of their breakfast.

At the moment, Congress got here up with a video on the Twitter deal with whereby the officers had been purportedly giving directions to the household even earlier than Bommai and his workforce reached there.

Within the video, an official accompanied by a police sub-inspector is heard saying that they’d take the pattern.

The video ended by exhibiting a neighborhood newspaper report, which reported that the officers informed the Dalit household to make use of branded gadgets and never others. Additionally, the video claimed that solely packaged consuming water was served to the Chief Minister and others.

The Congress mentioned this incident uncovered the mentality of Sangh Pariwar.

“The true mentality of the Sangh Parivar has been uncovered within the Chief Minister’s ‘Dalit home meal’ farce. Meals at Dalits’ dwelling had been an insult for the BJP, now it suspects it too. Did the PayCM Basavaraj Bommai entered Dalits’ homes to insult Dalits? Is BJP so suspicious of Dalits?” the Congress tweeted.

The PayCM is the Congress coinage accusing the Chief Minister of working a corrupt authorities the place hefty fee is charged for public works.

There was no speedy response from the BJP to this tweet.
